This past Sunday I went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market, which happens to be one of my favorite places of all time. (I wrote a post on it a while back, which can be found here.) This time around, I focused my energy in the clothing area, which is a whole entire day’s worth in itself. I was struck by all the amazing patterns on the vintage clothes. Since I couldn’t buy every single vintage dress that didn’t fit just to admire the fabric (and collect dust in my apartment), I did the second best thing – try to discreetly photograph everything without the vendors noticing. I tended to gravitate toward the florals (duh) and the geometric abstracts. It’s interesting – even though many of these prints were created 50 years ago, I could easily picture them on clothing today.
